The Ku-ring-gai Big Swing Festival is an open air festival on the St Ives Showground.

It celebrates the classic big band music from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.

Come and ‘kick back’ on your picnic rug and see the fantastic line up of talent performing some the best loved Swing Music.

Tickets are general admission, we have ample room and seating options.

When and Where

St Ives Showground – Saturday March 28th, 2015.
Gates open at 3:30pm, program begins at 5pm.

Please note that anyone aged 15  or under MUST be accompanied at all times by a parent or adult guardian. Children aged 5 years and under get in free.

Food

Hot food vendors will be available inside the festival for dinner and coffee, or enjoy one of our gourmet hampers

We have fantastic Greek food, The Vege Patch Van, Barcoco -coffee and gelato at the Event.

Seating

Please note, there is no allocated seating, just different viewing areas. The areas for seating are:

1. Picnic Area – this area is for ‘ground’ seating only. You can use picnic rugs or use ground chairs such as the hire/purchase ‘Chillazy’ chairs available.

Please note that for the comfort and convenience of your fellow swing fans, no raised seating may be used in the picnic areas. Chillazy chair hire and purchase is available for the picnic areas. These chairs sit down on the ground, offering comfortable floor seating. (From $10, + $20 security deposit)

2. Chair Area – this area will be behind the picnic area and chairs can be used. One area will be for low chairs, such as 6″ from the ground and the other will be for higher chairs such as director chairs. There will be 800 chairs onsite but you are welcome to BYO chairs of any kind.

3. Dance Area – There will be a professional dance floor area available for dancing at anytime.

ATM – No ATM on site for this event, cash or card at the bar and ticket office.

 Please note:

The Ku-ring-gai Big Swing Festival  is a licensed event and a strict “no BYO alcohol” policy is in place.

You can bring your own water and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Security will check bags at the entry.

Enjoy a chilled bubbly, wine, beer or cider from the full service bar.

 

We require the following ID for Bar Service:

  • Current valid Australian driver’s license (with photo)
  • Current Passport
  • Government Issued Proof of Age Card
  • International Driver’s License (must contain a photograph)
